From September 17 — 24, 2006, a series of public programs about the U.S. Constitution led by lawyers, scholars, advocates, students, artists, and others will be held as part of My Daily Constitution: Indianapolis.

My Daily Constitution is a public dialogue regarding the U.S. Constitution and issues that face an open society. Using discussion, printed materials and art, My Daily Constitution engages you in creative reflection about democracy from many perspectives.

Join us for the kick off of MDC-Indy with a public reading of the United States Constitution on Constitution Day, Sunday September 17, beginning at 2 PM at Indiana Statehouse Atrium.

On Constitution Day, step up to the microphone and help read the U.S. Constitution from 2-5:30 PM in the North Atrium of the Indiana Statehouse. On hand will be a team of constitutional lawyers, scholars, and judges including Justice Boehm and Justice Rucker of the Indiana Supreme Court, State Representative Orentlicher to answer your constitution questions live, in real time.

Throughout the week, come out for the Constitution Cafés, witness a High School Debate, take part in a poetry slam, ride on a bus tour, view an original copy of the U.S. Constitution, attend a film series, and more!

Free copies of the U.S. Constitution will be available at Indianapolis Marion County Public Library Branches, discussion locations, and several bookshops around the city.
