Damon Huss of the Constitutional Rights Foundation will be talking about the controversies and complexities surrounding hate speech and its status under the First Amendment, and will examine current law and comparative law on the subject to address the issue: Should hate speech remain protected speech?
About Damon Huss
Damon Huss is a writer, editor, and lawyer who lives in Santa Monica, California. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in history; from UCLA with his Master of Education degree and teaching credentials; and from Loyola Law School, where he was chief articles editor for the Loyola International & Comparative Law Review.
Damon has worked as a mediator at Loyola and as a deputy public defender for the Los Angeles County Office of the Public Defender. He works as senior editor and curriculum specialist at Constitutional Rights Foundation, Los Angeles, a nonpartisan civic-education nonprofit.
